Sonic’s Latest Sports
Four of Sonic’s Latest Sports games that Sonic’s in are: Sonic Riders, the upcoming Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. Except for Sonic Riders, all of these games are played on the Wii.
Sonic Riders is a racing game that is played on an air board or Extreme Gear as the game would call it. Players select a character based on taste and type. The 3 types are Speed, Fly, and Power. Speed types gets the most top speed, Flying Types gets the most acceleration, and Power types has the most power (increased speed in terrain). There are many extreme gears to choose from, and you can buy gears at the shop, or create a few special ones by completing missions. You can find out the whole story by playing in Story mode. Almost all extreme gears are powered by air, pure air. During races and missions, you can collect rings to level up. Collect 20 rings to increase to Level 2, and 40 for Level 3. When you level up, your stats increase, and you air capacity increases. Plus, your attacks get better. By playing the game, you can become better and better at it.
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is the 2nd Installment to the first game. It’s not available until Early 2008, but there will be improvements. There is going to be power-up abilities, like Gravity Dive and Gravity Warp. It’s said to be a whole lot better that the first.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming February 10, 2008. It’s a special fighting type game that up to 4 players can smash their way to victory. Sonic normally doesn’t appear in Smash Bros. Games, basically in games that Mario appears in. This and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games are the first games that Mario and Sonic appear in together. These games are based on the Beijing Winter Olympics 2008. This was originally a Sonic only game, but this is a more appropriate time to bring Mario and Sonic “more privately” together for the first time. Sonic is a very popular character, along with Mario, which them the ultimate team, and rivals! Rock on, Sonic.
