Homecoming has become more than a tradition and is now a big part of schools everywhere. During Homecoming both a male and a female are chosen by vote to be king and queen of the dance. This year our Homecoming king is Rodarrick Jones also know as “Who? Roe Jones.” For those who know him I think we can all agree that he fits the role as king perfectly. Roe is always willing to help someone no matter what age. His talent is shared throughout the school and that is an honor to be able to share such a great thing. Parents have said how well Roe works with children and how they can tell he truly enjoys getting involved with them. Not only has Rodarrick scored high is sports but he is also a great student and a joy for teachers and fellow classmates.

Roe attended East Iberville in elementary and until the seventh grade when he enrolled with St. John. Starting off he gained great friendships that are still strong today. Since middle school Rodarrick has been a strong asset to the athletic department at St. John. I asked Amie Daigle if she was surprised when they announced Rodarrck’s name to be our 2007 Homecoming King and she replied, “Not at all, everyone loves Roe, he’s friends with everyone and has never been in any drama with people.” After speaking with other people I got a lot of the same replies as Amie gave me. Roe enjoys playing football but his main sport that he would like to pursue a future with is baseball. On Rodarrick’s spare time he enjoys hitting in the batting cage and playing with his younger brother. After High School Roe said he plans to find a college that fits him and he will then begin his baseball career. He also said that he knows that it might be sad to some people that this is probably his last year of football, but we are not close to seeing the end of Roe Jones. Congratulations Rodarrick, on the honor of being Homecoming King 2007.
