Homecoming has been a great tradition at St. John High School for years and years. The students are always very excited about not only the dance, but also homecoming week which is the week before homecoming. Homecoming week is always a lot of fun for the students, and we really enjoy the many activities we get to participate in. Throughout the week, each grade level receives points for the many activities. The grade with the most points at the end of the week wins.
The events of this year’s homecoming week included: Twin Day, Crazy Day, a day for the students to wear their homecoming t-shirts, blue and gold day, and last but not least, theme day. Twin day started the school week off with a bang, with students dressing alike in all kinds of crazy outfits. This years twin day winners were Corrine Reeves and Christina Sharon, who were partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain. Clint Ourso won the seniors another victory dressing the craziest on Tuesday. Thursday the school had a pep rally, where the Crazy Olympics were held. Each grade level earned more points for their overall score.
After asking senior Lyndsey Daigle how she felt about homecoming week this year, it being her last, she replied with, “This year the teachers have been more strict in the classroom than any other homecoming week, and they made us do more work than ever, but homecoming week is only as fun as you make it. This year, we did it big. From rolling houses to dressing crazy, its always a great tradition that St. John School always has the best homecoming week. It’s been a blast.”
