Mario Kart Series
Mario Kart is mainly a Mario racing game. It features Mario and company racing in go-carts. Like the Mario series, it has the Mario items, the stages which have similarity of the Mario characters, and the Mario obstacles. Moreover, there are many Mario Kart fans in the world. In fact, more people know, or have least heard of Mario in Mario Kart than any other games.
There are 5+1 Mario Kart games available, with 1 Mario Kart game in every system, starting with the Super NES. The +1 is the Mario Kart game for the Wii that is not available yet. These games are for the following; Super NES- Super Mario Kart, N64- Mario Kart 64, GBA- Mario Kart Super Circuit, GCN- Mario Kart Double Dash, NDS- Mario Kart DS, Wii- Mario Kart Wii. Notice that most of the game titles pretty much show what system they play on.
Super Mario Kart is the first Mario Kart game to ever hit the stores. There are 8 Characters (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Bowser) with 16 Courses to boot. Basically, it gets harder with each cup (Mushroom, Flower, Star, and Special). Mario Kart 64 has the same 8 characters with 16 Coursers. It’s the same as before, except with more multiplayer options, and the Extra Mode, in which all the courses are mirrored (Right to Left). Mario Kart Super Circuit has the same 8 Characters, and with 20 courses (add lightning cup) to boot. This time, there are 20 hidden courses, all of them similar to the Super Mario Kart courses. In Mario Kart Double Dash, as of right now, is the only game with 2 racers (in one controller) in the same kart. There are a total of 16+2 Characters, and 16 Courses. This game is also the first Mario Kart game you get to select, what kind of kart you want to drive with. In Mario Kart DS, you have 12 Characters and 32 Courses. The last 16 courses have the top 4 Courses from each of the past 4 Mario Kart games. This game also features missions to play, featuring 63 Missions, 7 of them boss stages. There are no information on the upcoming Mario Kart Wii, but it will be available early 2008.
In the games, there are lots of items to use. There are the common items like Bananas, Shells, Mushrooms, and Stars, and. There are also new and better items, like Bom-ombs, Blue Shells, and Lightning. In Mario Kart Double Dash, there are the special items that characters might receive only to that character group.
Mario sure has a lot of games to star. There Many kinds of Sports, Parties, and Adventures he makes. That’s what makes Mario a true superstar throughout time.
