Graduation is steadily approaching and seniors need to prepare for their futures. The first thing seniors need to do is keep their grades up and prepare for the challenge ahead. Then they need to pick a college and get ready to apply to it.
There are many different college choices in Louisiana, like LSU, Northwestern, Nicholls, Southern, ULL, and BRCC. When seniors are choosing the college they want to go to they need to look at many different things. One thing seniors need to know is the requirements to get into each college. They need to find out what kind of GPA they need and also what score they need to make on the ACT. After they find out what they need they have to find out what they want in a college. Some things they need to look at are location, cost, size, and athletics. They also need to see if their college has their intended major.
College applications might scare some students but it’s not so hard. Seniors this year need to fill their applications out and have them done before December if they want scholarships. If they do not care about scholarships then they have until February to fill them out. When I asked senior Mark Dupont what he thought about college in general he said “I actually have mixed feelings toward the excitement of college. I honestly couldn’t tell you if I’m excited at all. On the one hand, there is so much freedom and entrance into the real world. But is the real world as great as it sounds? There is much responsibility and it is a bit frightening.” When I asked senior Gianni Campisi if he was ready for college he said “No.” Another senior, Ethan Lacombe, said “I’m not really ready because I do not know what college I want to go to or if I’m even going to college.”
