Salsa Lessons Raise Money October 5, 2007

This past Saturday there was a two hour salsa lesson in the choir and dance room that is upstairs above the gym. Some bonus points were given to the students in Spanish class if they
attended the lessons. The profit from the lessons will go towards the mission
trip to Costa Rica in the spring. Mallory Mire taught the lessons to about 30 people.
The lessons were another way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, which is
celebrated from September 15th through October 15th. In addition, the lessons rasied money for the student mission trip to Costa Rica. I also interviewed Blain Delaune, a senior that attended the salsa lessons. I asked him about his experience with the lessons. He said “It was awesome.”
I had an interview with Danielle Daigle, a freshman at St. John high, who attended the lessons. I asked her how her experience with it was. She told me that it was awesome. Danielle also said “I enjoyed it and I am definitely going to the next one.”
There will be another lesson on November 3rd. It is ten dollars to get in if you pay in advance, or twelve dollars if you pay at the
door.
