The Player of the Week this week is a long time member of the St. John family, Trent Willis. Willis, standing at 5′10″ and weighing 160 lbs, was born on September 14, 1989 into a family of football players. His brother Toby played for Plaquemine High, but was injured and was unable to play his senior year. Willis said that his brother was his biggest inspiration for him to play. Willis even changed his football number from 13 to 5, because that is the same number his brothers use in that family. Willis, like his brother, plays the safety position, but also plays a mixture of linebacker and receiver; so there’s no surprise to why he tries to model himself after Brian Urlacher, a linebacker for the Chicago Bears who converted from safety to linebacker, which is a good role model to have for any player at any position.
