Welcome back to school! Here at St. John we offer many different clubs and organizations for the student body. Some clubs are designed specifically to push the students and are not just centered on academics, but test the personal qualities of each individual. Qualities such as leadership, honesty, and morality are necessities for the building of almost every extra curricular activity. If students join a club, they have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and build character while participating in activities that will benefit their future. Clubs and organization such as National Honor Society, Peer Ministry, Abstinence Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Beta Club, and the Debate Team do just such.

Weclome back! The first week of school is over, and the stress of being back in class is starting to sink in again. We think, for the hundreth time, how summer never seems to pass slowly enough. Time to finish those summer reading essays and get back to work. Along with more challenges and projects, this school year brings a lot of changes.

The St. John Eagles are preparing for another football season. Last year, the Eagle football team made it all the way to the New Orleans Superdome, but lost their only game of the season to powerhouse Evangel, who went on to win the District I championship.
After ending the football season on a high note, some unexpected changes came for the Eagles. The biggest change of all was that the coaching staff of the St. John football team was replaced with a whole new staff. For weeks the Eagles were without a coach, until Coach Bruce Hoffman showed up.

It’s a new year at St. John, and quite a few new rules have come along with it. There are two rules that will probably stand out to students this year. These are the uniform change and students having to use a hall pass each time they leave the classrooom.

We can all agree that summer was over before we knew it. After dreading August
15 since the day school let out last year, we are back and it is a new year. Now,
instead of dreading, we are all looking forward to a year that will stay with
us forever. Along with new freshman, there are new rules, new staff, and new
coaches that will contribute to our new beginning. With freshmen having lot of
nerves, and seniors anxious for graduation, we are all back together as a
family.
