Cafeteria Food is Good for the Soul August 31, 2007

St. John’s faculty, administration, and students have been representing our school since 1853. Some of us may often forget the people who do their best and work their hardest to make our day nutritional and energizing. These people are our very own cafeteria workers, and they slave from morning until noon until every student is fed. Students watch the clock waiting for the lunch bell to ring; although we may forget it, if it weren’t for our cafeteria staff, that bell would be pointless.

The renovations being made to the high school are something that everyone knows
about, but not many people know the full extent of what is going to be done.
The renovations will take four to eight years to complete. In an interview with
Administrator Lester Bourg we were told that an architect has already been hired to
complete what he called the “Master Plan.” These renovations and additions
will not only make a better learning environment, but it will also make the
school a safer place.

Faith is a very complicated thing. To have faith, you have to have very good spirituality. It is a very big issue. I think that all people should have faith, whether it be in God or in themselves. If you don’t have faith in yourself, then you’re not going to have faith at all. Having faith in yourself means you can understand things better. To me, all people should have faith so they can do something to help themselves.

As you all know, or should know, this year a few changes were made to the uniform. Students are not allowed to wear shorts, even in hottest weather. Guys have to wear pants and girls get their choice of pants or skirts at knee length. Another big change is that tennis shoes were outlawed this year at St. John. A smaller change is the socks. There are no ankle socks permitted in this school as well as white socks.
